Mad Max Mobile library by Edward Ward
I do a lot of cross-sections and cutaways as I have always been fascinated in what's inside stuff ever since I was tiny. Having moved to Australia fairly recently, I decided after a while to ingratiate myself with the locals through the power of drawing. This was the result, a cutaway of something to do with the most Australian thing I could think of at the time, which was Mad Max - it coincided with an anniversary (40th I think) of the first film's release which is probably why it popped into my head in the first place.
One thing I noticed they lacked in all four films was a supply of decent reading material. Despite the collapse of modern civilisation in every meaningful sense they still seemed to be OK for tyres and sparkplugs and headlamps and things but where could one go for a copy of Northanger Abbey? I decided to address this disparity with a mobile library specially adapted for the demanding needs of its members. If you look carefully you may be able to spot Tina Turner in there and some other rum coves from the films.
