Marcus Cope (b.1980) is a painter based in London. Much of his work uses as it's starting point personal memories, unresolved situations or unexpected encounters with strangers. Much of his work is based upon the artists experiences of time spent in Cyprus where he first went almost 20 years ago as artist-in-residence at the Cyprus College of Art. More recently the artist has also been focusing closer to home, with new pictures reflecting on family, fatherhood and his own childhood.
