Le Document — Issue Three

Le Document — Issue Three

Hola, Salut, Privet, Ciao, Oi, Hujambo, Yassou, Shalom, God dag, and welcome from wherever you are to issue 3 of Le Document. We are the magazine for Fantastic People.

Issue 3 is dedicated to Andy Warhol who once quipped, Art is what you can get away with. Le Document loves Andy's way with words, his line drawings, his films, his prints and even his wigs.

In this issue you can read the singer Richard Strange writing about discovering, The Velvet Underground & Nico LP which Warhol produced more than 53 years ago. Artist and Songwriter, Mikey Georgeson has written poems about Warhol. Artist Dexter Dalwood has written about his favourite work in the current Warhol show at Tate Modern. And, Victor Bockris, who is the author of the definitive Warhol biography, has granted us an exclusive interview. Elsewhere in issue 3 there is the usual round up of reader's pets, astrology and heartwarming distractions.

Le Document is edited by Chris Tosic and Harry Pye. Whilst making this issue the office stereo was pumping with Warhol inspired songs such as Small Town by Lou Reed & John Cale and Andy Warhol by David Bowie.

We ate Campbells Soup and we drank CocaCola. Like Andy, we are both deeply superficial. Andy once said that the great thing about America was that it started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. Andy continued, “You can be watching TV and see Coca Cola, and you can know that the President drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke too. A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all Cokes are good.” Rich or Poor – everyone is welcome at Le Document dot com.

Happy Reading,
Chris and Harry
