Marie Louise Plum is a contemporary British painter exploring themes of pastoral occultism and uncanny enchantments. Marie says: "Taking an unintended break from painting "witches" (for lent?), I'm currently floating face-up on a balmy ocean of miniature women in oversized settings. Marble Sitter is the first painting in this new, much jollier direction, having spent the last year researching and painting the lives of executed women."
